Spotlight on the Brand - Sarah @ Blossom and Bear

A collection of stylish teething toys, jewellery and décor solutions for life with your little ones.

Who’s behind Blossom and Bear?

I'm Sarah and I started Blossom and Bear after having my second baby. I wanted to use my creative background and have work that was flexible around having my little ones at home. Most of the inspiration for my products came from my day to day with them. I grew from one or two handmade products to a whole range and now we are a little team of women (mostly mums!) who design and make the toys to sell.

What do we love about Blossom and Bear?

As a parent, it is horrible to see how much pain, discomfort and distress the whole teething process can cause our baby. They will gnaw on anything they can get their hands on in order to relieve their sore gums, so a teething toy is a must.

We love Sarah’s fun cactus and elephant teethers as they are both eye catching and colourful and a bit different to the run of the mill teething toys you usually find in the marketplace. With one side smooth and the other textured they are perfect for soothing your baby’s tender gums.
We also love the wooden teething rings, the combination of silicone beads and natural wood is unusual and as well as a teether, your baby can also enjoy the different textures as a toy.
Their size makes them easy for little hands to grip and they take up minimal space in your changing bag!
‘A Little Bit Dotty’ is all about gifts for babies and family so we thought it would be interesting if we asked Sarah a few parent related questions. This is what she said.
What parenting tip would you have given your pre-child self?
I would say enjoy each stage as I know everyone says it but it goes really fast. The hard parts are just phases, they grow out of them and then there are new challenges and new joys. Also don't compare yourself to others, do things your way and in your style!
What do you miss most about life before children?
Lying in at the weekend! Also that time between coming home from work and having dinner where you could just slum out, have a drink and watch tv. Now it's a whirlwind of bath time/story time/ bed time!
What do you love most about being a parent?
I love having a little tribe, little ones who make life more interesting, give great cuddles and make me laugh. The best thing about being a parent is when your little ones tell you they love you and cuddle in of their own accord!
What would you say is the hardest part about being a parent?
Sometimes it feels relentless, and that you have to really fight for your own space and time. I think I find that the hardest.
What's the most embarrassing thing your child has said or done in public?
Once my daughter said in a lift full of people- 'have you got another baby in your tummy mummy because it's quite big and wobbly'. Thank you sweetheart!
A big thank you to Sarah at Blossom and Bear for taking part in ‘Spotlight on the Brand’.
