Meet our Guest Contributors
With two young boys there are a number of areas relating to being a mum that I am able to share based on my own personal experience, but I want the ‘Dotty Journal’ to be much more than just my life experiences and journey through motherhood.
A Little Bit Dotty is about helping mums with gifts that will stimulate, soothe, relax and calm, just to name a few but in order to navigate the journey we also need information, resources, support and to know it’s not just us going through that particular ‘PHASE’.
So, from time to time I will be inviting guest contributors to share their professional insight on a number of topics such as baby massage, sleep regression, toddler tantrums, fussy eaters, how to take time out for yourself etc.
If you would like to be a guest contributor or you know someone else that might be interested, please do get in touch via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Say hello to our contributors below:
Jemma is a doula and hypnobirthing teacher who works throughout London and Surrey. Many people’s first thoughts might be that it all sounds a bit fluffy and just some ‘breathing’, or unscientific and woo, but Jemma is ready to prove otherwise. In fact, everything she teaches is based on science, logic, facts and statistics because of this she firmly believes that by preparing and planning for the birth you want, you are giving yourself the ability to achieve it.
Jemma is not only working hard to challenge the image of birth but also that of doulas and antenatal teachers - We’re not all croc wearing, incense burning hippies…. Educated women now want to be knowledgeable about birth and want to work with someone who they can relate to. Having worked in PR and the luxury industry for 14 years, Jemma understands today’s mums because she is one. With a three year old and one year old she has experienced birth recently and made decisions based on logic, fact and statistics rather than heresy. She is qualified in hypnobirthing, birth trauma rewind, infant loss support and supporting parents as a birth and postnatal doula.
Sarah is a brand-new teacher with Little Signers. Her previous career was singing and dancing professionally on cruise ships. After travelling the world for over 6 years she decided to attend university and train to become a Speech and Language Therapist. After 4 years of hard studying she obtained a first-class honours degree from City University of London. Once graduated and working for a short while in the NHS, she herself became a mum and wanted to find the right work life balance. She couldn’t find anything more perfect than running her own baby signing classes; incorporating her love of singing and the knowledge and skills obtained from her degree.
Sarah’s background means not only can she provide wonderfully entertaining classes for your littles ones, but she is also weaving in her unique expertise in the area of speech, language and communication. You will come away from classes not only entertained but also well informed.
Sarah is incredibly passionate about developing and promoting early communication skills and building that special bond between parent and child and she can’t wait to share this amazing tool with other parents.
